So we had a couple of days - stay at home or not ? Not was the answer. but where to ? With only a couple of days ? Answer Barcelona. A 2 hour hop, but this time with an airline we've never done before Vueling. Vueling  it's worth checking out some of their deals - you have to search a little bit, but it's worth it ! We booked on line with no frills - opting for the smallest under seat carry on bag allowance , no seat choice, just basically a seat - 25 C & D as it happens - about three quarters of the way back. The flight price was the same as me going into London peak on the train (just below £50) so I wasn't expecting much...lets see ! Up at 04:30 for the 20 minute drive to Gatwick South long stay, car park B , the bus arrives almost immediately with the 2 minute journey to South Terminal Up the escalator and straight through security without any delays at all, and then get a sandwich deal to eat on the short flight We sit down for maybe 45 minutes and the flight ...

So after a couple of hours rest after Center Parcs and then Exeter, it was up early for the next adventure.....an hours drive to Heathrow to catch the early morning BA flight to Manchester. Purple Parking for £20 for two days, then onto terminal 5, straight through security and a short walk to the gate where we are paged ? - it seems the security cameras didn't capture my wife's image so needed to verify the journey started in the UK, as no need for passports. Security come really quick, a check of the parking booking, and we are now first to board - bonus ! No club travel this time as it's only a 30 minute flight or so and we are having breakfast when we get there. Definitely quicker than the last time we went to Manchester ( 6 hours with traffic jams). We walk from terminal 3 across to terminal 1 and then the transport into the city. Manchester Airport looks very tired compared to Gatwick and Heathrow.
